Prosperity: it’s not all about money

Me and the girls at the gorge
Today was a gorgeous Indian summer day, so my husband, daughter and her friend piled in the car to a beautiful state park. Looking over the awesome gorge with sun speckling the water below, I thanked God for this day and the healing that nature brings.
Nature, purpose, connection with others … I am grateful for all of these things and more. So why did I draw a blank earlier in the day when I was asked to talk to the congregation at my spiritual center (Unity) about prosperity? My first thought was, “I’m not making money. I do this blog for the love of it, and my book has yet to be published.”
I realize there is so much more to prosperity/abundance than money. To me, it’s my new and wonderful connections that have emerged from this blog, my book and reaching out to others. I have felt as bonded with my new friends as I have with friends I’ve had for years. God has blessed me with opportunities to help others and also receive help from people, some I don’t even know.
Friday night I was feeling worried about a pain in my neck (no, I’m not talking about my husband!) Then, Christine, who I posted about on Friday, called me out of the blue. Talking to her made it all go away. Here’s someone who’s been down my road and has chosen a spiritual path to peace. Talking to her was just what I needed.
Today I can look at a rainbow over a waterfall and feel more elation than I ever have before. I can feel God’s touch in the warmth of sunshine or the embrace of my beautiful daughter. I feel happy and satisfied with my life.
Is that abundance? Am I prosperous? I think so.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend too.
