Unstoppable and uncontainable

I keep getting this message ...
Is this a message? Copyright Andy Dooley.

I draw my spiritual resources from many places. I was raised Jewish (more cultural than religious), but I go to Unity on Sundays and follow Joel Osteen’s TV program and books. My Grandma Shirley would be rolling in her grave if she knew.

Hey, it works for me! What I love about Unity and Joel is their positive message of personal power and the healing power of God. Joel always talks about his mother Dodie, who was healed of terminal cancer in 1981. In the 1800s, Unity’s founder Myrtle Fillmore healed herself  from tuberculosis, which was considered incurable and fatal back then.

Both had something in common: they declared with strong belief that they would heal from their diseases. Myrtle blessed each part of her body and declared that she was a child of God and did not inherit disease. Dodi walked through her house speaking aloud, “I will live and not die. With long life, He satisfies me and shows me His salvation.”

I watched Joel’s sermon yesterday, and he talked about God’s uncontainable power that is greater than any force against you. Then today, I received this work of art and message in my inbox from Andy Dooley. Andy came to Unity recently, offering his unique brand of spiritual comedy. I think there is a message here: I cannot be held down by a scan or diagnosis; God has greater things in store for me. It certainly seems like the universe is conspiring to bring this book to pass. Wonderful people have come to me to help me with editing, financing its publishing, and designing the book cover. All of this came to me without my asking. God bless my wonderful friends, Beth Franks, Jami Elliott and Stuart Kunkler.

Because of this help and my desire to get my book out sooner than later, I have decided to self-publish From Incurable to Incredible. I spoke about my experience and the book at church last week. A womanwho has Stage III ovarian cancer came up to me afterward with tears in her eyes saying she can’t wait to read it. She has heard the bad prognosis and has seen the sad looks of people when they hear about it. She needs hope. And so do so many others.

Now I’m going to start getting this book done. I’ll let you all know as it progresses!

Absolutely- I love Joel Osteen myself. His message is always empowering. I didn’t know his mother did the same thing as Myrtle Fillmore. These ladies rocked.
