AHCC may be derived from medicinal mushrooms (via a secret & proprietary fermentation process involving fungal enzymes & rice bran), but the active ingredients and modes of action are different than that of medicinal mushrooms per se. The glucans in AHCC that are presumably responsible for AHCC's effect on immune function, are short-chain polysaccharides with low molecular weights and alpha-1,3 linkages whereas the immunomodulating glucans in mushrooms are long-chain polysaccharides with high molecular weights and beta-1,3 and beta-1,6 linkages. The physical structure of glucans has a great effect on their biological activities and their effects on immune function.

Sounds like a good deal of information to absorb. Enjoy.

You are definitely supposed to be there. Many flights were canceled yesterday and yet, you go to the conference.

The snow isn't as much as they thought it would be but of course the roads aren't very good yet.

Enjoy and keep us posted.
